The ACE Programme
The ACE Programme (ASPIRATIONAL, CAREERS, EMPLOYABILITY) is a Level 1 full time programme of study that gives learners the vocational and study skills to enable them to progress to a Level 2 course, employment or training. The programme provides an excellent opportunity for learners to develop the skills, knowledge, attitudes, and behaviours required for further learning, employment or apprenticeship.
Programme Purpose:
The ACE Programme allows the learner to build a personalised learning package, using both their own goals and tutors’ assessment of their skills profile. This will include a vocational qualification, either focused on a particular area or a taster of several different areas.
This programme is aimed at building the skills and confidence to enable you to move on to mainstream Level 2 courses or into employment. The course can be a one or two year programme (depending on needs and aspirations) and includes accredited qualifications. You will also study English and Maths at an appropriate level and build up a work experience portfolio. The programme contains many elements of the Vocational Studies Programme, enabling you to make good progress towards employment, independent living, good health and participation in the community.
Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry qualifications required. You will be asked to complete an Initial Assessment so we can identify what level you are working at. The program will then be designed to meet your learning needs and ensure that you are able to achieve qualifications which will help you to progress. Even if you have done it before you can progress to the next level.

- English and Maths Development:
It is recognised by employers that good English and Maths skills are not just desirable but vital, particularly if you aspire to advance your career. We also recognise this importance and will support you in developing these skills and abilities throughout your studies.
English and Maths are so vital to your employment prospects that it is a requirement for anyone 18 or under without a GCSE grade 4/C, to continue working towards these subjects, either directly, or in a stepped approach through Functional Skills. Even if you have achieved the grade 4/C or above, we feel it is still important you continue developing these skills, therefore English and maths will always be a core part of your course.
Where can I Progress?
This qualification will provide you with a broad range of knowledge, understanding and skills to support progression into further education, training and employment. Alternatively, you can progress into various job roles in the statutory, voluntary or private sectors.
