GCSE Results Day

On Thursday 22th August 2024, students across the county will finally get their eagerly awaited GCSE results.  We know it can be quite an emotional day, and whether you receive the results you were expecting or not you may still be unsure about what your next steps should be.

Don't panic - we are here for you!

  • Maybe you have done better than expected and would like to look at your options again
  • You may not have achieved the results you'd expected and need guidance on what to do next
  • You may not have made the final decision yet on your future and want to discuss your options
  • You might just want some more general information

Regardless of your results, we offer a wide range of study options and our team of friendly careers advisors are available to help you make the right decision for you.

I've done my GCSEs - what next?

You will now be expected to stay in learning until the end of the academic year in which you turn 18.  This doesn’t mean you have to stay at school, there are several options available to you.  For example, at 16 you could choose to study a full-time course at college or become an apprentice.

Derwentside College are here to help you and our career advisors will offer you impartial advice to suit your individual needs.
