Acting Principal and Chief Executive, Susan Errington

Susan Errington

As Acting Principal and Chief Executive, Susan provides strategic leadership for the College, with overall responsibility for its performance, success, and future development.  With more than 30 years of experience in Further Education, Susan brings a wealth of expertise, strong leadership, and an in-depth understanding of learners, staff, and the communities served by the College. 

As the College's Accounting Officer, Susan is responsible for ensuring educational excellence, financial sustainability, and the effective delivery of the College's strategic priorities in-line with the strategic plan.  Working closely with the Board of Governors, she leads the organisation with a clear focus on quality, innovation, and continuous improvement, ensuring the College remains responsive to the needs of learners and industry. 

Susan is passionate about creating opportunities that transform lives through education and skills.  She is also committed to upholding the College's values, supporting staff to thrive, and strengthening the College's reputation as a trusted partner and leading provider of education and training. 

Vice Principal Finance & Resources, Deborah Minns

Deborah Minns 

As Vice Principal Finance & Resources and Chief Financial Officer, Deborah provides strategic leadership across finance, estates, facilities, IT and risk management, ensuring the College remains financially sustainable, operationally resilient and well positioned for future growth.  

As a member of the Executive Team, she works closely with senior leaders and governors to shape strategy, oversee major investment decisions and ensure resources are aligned to the College's mission of transforming lives through education, ambition and impact. 

A qualified accountant, Deborah is a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), bringing extensive expertise in financial leadership, governance and organisational development, with a strong focus on enabling educational excellence and sustainable growth.

Assistant Principal Curriculum, Alex Muir

Alex Muir
Alex is responsible for providing strategic leadership across classroom-based education for young people and adults.  He leads curriculum planning and development, quality improvement and the enhancement of teaching, learning and learner outcomes, ensuring provision responds to local, regional and national skills needs.
As the College’s Executive Designated Safeguarding Lead, Alex provides strategic leadership for safeguarding, ensuring robust policies, systems and practices are in place to protect the safety and wellbeing of all learners.
With extensive experience in curriculum design and educational leadership, Alex has a strong track record of driving improvement and developing high-quality provision that supports learners to progress into further study, employment and their chosen careers.

Assistant Principal, Business Development and Technical Education, Nicola Raine

Nicola Raine
Nicola leads the College’s apprenticeship, business development and marketing functions, providing strategic direction that strengthens employer engagement across the region and drives growth in partnerships and work-based learning opportunities.  She also oversees the College’s technical education offer, ensuring it meets industry standards and aligns with emerging skills needs.
Nicola has extensive experience in education and skills development, having held several leadership roles focused on employer engagement, curriculum innovation, technical education, and apprenticeship growth throughout her career.

 

 

Director of Human Resources and Employee Engagement, Rachel Holmes

Rachel Holmes

Rachel is responsible for HR Services, providing professional support and guidance to managers and staff in all HR related activities ensuring the effective application of HR policies, procedures, employment legislation and best practice.  She also leads the College's employee engagement strategy, fostering a positive and inclusive culture through effective internal communications, colleague engagement initiatives and opportunities for employee voice. 
A Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Personnel and Development, Rachel brings with her wealth of experience in public sector (mainly NHS) Human Resources roles.

Director of Information and Technology, Robin Wilson

Robin Wilson

Robin is responsible for leading the Management Information, Web, Exams, Admissions and Information Services Teams. As Director of Information and Technology, Robin ensures funding and audit compliance, develops the Data and Information Strategy, ensures IT systems are secure and fit for purpose, and provides reporting and system solutions to internal and external stakeholders.

Robin has over 20 years of experience fulfilling various permanent and consultancy roles in the education sector where he has worked with over 30 colleges. He also has a background in teaching.
