Training Consultant in Residential Childcare

Temporary, full-time post (working 35 hours per week) | Salary: up to £29,587 per annum

Location: Derwentside College, regional travel will be required as part of the role

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Training Consultant in Residential Childcare to cover a period of maternity leave with an anticipated start date of June 2026 for a period of 12-months, or until the return of the substantive post holder from maternity leave.

In recent years the Childcare Department has grown beyond expectations and is now proud to be working with some major employers, not only locally but also nationally.  At the same time, the hard work and commitment of the team have ensured continued outstanding success.  As a result of this, we are now seeking to appoint a talented individual with extensive experience in working and/or training in Residential Childcare settings to join our team.

What you will do?

The person appointed will play an instrumental role in this high performing department.  You will be passionate about training individuals working in Residential Childcare settings and be extremely knowledgeable and occupationally competent in the area. You will also hold a relevant teaching or assessing qualification and be capable of delivering excellent apprenticeship training both on and off-the-job.

This is a temporary, full-time post (working 35 hours per week) and the starting salary will depend upon an individual’s level of experience.  Regional travel will be required as part of the role; therefore use of your own transport, a current valid driving license and business insurance is essential.
