Finance Manager
Permanent, part-time post (working 30 hours per week) | Salary: up to £40,920 per annum per rota

Derwentside College is seeking a Finance Manager to support the Head of Finance in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial services that underpin the College’s strategic and operational goals. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading role in shaping financial processes, driving continuous improvement, and supporting key stakeholders across the organisation.
What you will do?
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance Team
- Oversee financial reporting, month-end processes, and budget preparation
- Ensure payroll accuracy and statutory compliance, including VAT and HMRC submissions
- Enhance financial systems, controls, and procedures to ensure efficiency and resilience
- Support procurement and contract management activities
- Provide expert financial guidance to budget holders and engaging with auditors
The successful candidate will be part-qualified CCAB or Level 4 AAT (with substantial experience), full CCAB is desirable. They will need to demonstrate proven experience in a finance leadership role, ideally within education or the public sector; strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of financial reporting and compliance; and excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
