Access to Higher Education
Thinking about a career in nursing, teaching or social work?
If you are considering a change in career or are returning to study and are looking for a route into Higher Education/University this course will be right for you.
There are no specific prior qualifications needed, however; you will need to have a satisfactory interview, complete a short written test and have an initial assessment in Literacy (Level 2) and Numeracy (Level 1).
The tutors also have an assessment in the early stages of the course to ensure your suitability for continued progression on the programme.
There are three diplomas with the Access to Higher Education:
- Access to HE Diploma (Educational Studies)
- Access to HE Diploma (Health)
- Access to HE Diploma ( Humanities & Sciences)
This life-changing course is scheduled to accommodate school times, takes place 3.5 days a week and can be combined with part-time work. Learning methods are classroom based and are assessed though presentations, reports, portfolio of evidence and exams.
The units vary between each Diploma; this popular course has led our former students into careers in the areas of law, radiography, performing arts, sports management, teaching, nursing and many more.
