Catering & Hospitality

There are many exciting opportunities within the Catering and Hospitality industry.  With strong demand for skilled chefs and hospitality professionals, studying catering and hospitality can lead to a wide range of rewarding career pathways.

You will gain a broad range of practical skills and develop in-depth knowledge of food preparation and cooking methods.  Working in the College’s professional production kitchen, you will be able to put your skills into practice in a real working environment.

You will also build your service and customer care skills in the College’s restaurant, The Steel House Bistro, and have opportunities to work at a variety of functions, conferences, and dinner events throughout the year.  Alongside this, you will produce a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for employment within the catering and hospitality industry.

You will be assessed through:

  • Products of work

You will build a portfolio to support your learning and will be formally assessed during practical work in the College kitchen.
