Derwentside College is seeking a Human Resources Administration Assistant Apprentice to join our dedicated Human Resources team. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your HR skills within a respected Further Education college where professionalism, integrity and attention to detail are highly valued.
What will you do?
Working closely with the HR Officer and Director of Human Resources, you will play a key role in delivering an efficient, responsive and confidential HR service. From supporting recruitment and onboarding to maintaining accurate HR records and assisting with payroll administration, your contribution will directly support our staff and the wider College community.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and organised individual to begin a career in Human Resources within an education setting.
You will provide administrative support to the HR team, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, maintaining HR records, responding to queries, and supporting payroll and HR projects. The role offers hands-on experience alongside structured apprenticeship training.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
- Confident using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
- Able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
- Professional, discreet and committed to confidentiality
- Approachable, customer-focused and a strong team player
- Enthusiastic, adaptable and keen to learn
- Ideally someone with some life skills and work experience
