Engineering
This two-year programme equips students with the core knowledge and practical skills required for entry into a range of design and development roles within the engineering and manufacturing sectors.
A key feature of the course is a minimum of nine weeks working with an employer on an industry placement, giving students real-world experience and the opportunity to apply their learning in a professional setting.
Core Content:
- CAD and Digital engineering
- Design processes and sustainability
- Materials science, engineering maths
- Health & Safety and commercial awareness
Occupational Specialisms:
- Mechanical System Design
- Technical Drawings and 3D CAD
- Manufacturing Processes and Prototyping
Industry Placement:
- A minimum of 315 house (45 days/9weeks) in an industry relevant setting
Entry Requirements:
- You will typically need five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language and Maths. However, individual circumstances may be considered at enrolment
Progression Routes:
- Higher-level Apprenticeship
- University; Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Product Design
- Employment in roles such as; CAD Technician, Mechanical Design Technician
