Digital Software Development
This T Level course is designed for anyone aiming for a career in software production and design. Over two years, it offers a blend of theoretical learning and practical digital training, including a real-world industry placement. It is ideal for 16–19-year-olds interested in coding and digital technology. Upon completion, students can progress to a related higher-level apprenticeship or degree course.
Core Content:
- Programming languages e.g. Python, JavaScript
- Software development and project management
- Cyber security and cloud computing
Occupational Specialism - Software Development:
- User-focused application design
- Writing and testing secure code
- Using version control and debugging tools
Industry Placement:
- A minimum of 315 house (45 days) in a digital/software role
Entry Requirements:
- You will typically need five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English Language and Maths. However, individual circumstances may be considered at enrolment
Progression Routes:
- Higher-level Apprenticeship
- University; Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering
- Employment in roles such as; Junior Software Developer, Web Developer, QA Tester
