The Hub Opens to Support Independent Learning at Derwentside College

We are delighted to announce the official opening of The Hub on Monday 16 February — a new dedicated space designed to support independent study and learner services across the college.

The Hub provides a modern and welcoming environment where learners can study independently or work collaboratively in small groups. With access to IT facilities, additional desk space, and a calm learning atmosphere, the space has been created to encourage focus, organisation, and academic progress.

In addition to being a study area, The Hub is also the new home for Student Services and the Student Progression Coordinators, bringing key support services together in one central location for ease of access.

This exciting new development reflects the college’s ongoing commitment to providing high-quality learning environments and enhanced support for all learners.

We look forward to seeing The Hub become a central part of college life.
