Certificate and Diploma in Caring for Children

Certificate and Diploma in Caring for Children

This qualification encourages an understanding of the knowledge and the skills needed to care for young children. It covers children’s growth, learning and development. There are also units to help with self-development.

There are no formal entry requirements but learners should show an interest in progressing onto a care related career.

A range of learning methods will be adopted to meet the diverse needs of the learners.

All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods.  These methods could include : written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams or setting up an information board.

These will depend on the individual learner’s abilities but could include: Level 2 units and level 2 qualifications

Although the qualification does not qualify learners to work with children it does support them in preparing for the “next steps” either in training or moving towards the world of work.
