Congratulations to Former Derwentside College Apprentices

Many congratulations to Katie Waller and Natalie Newbould who both won the County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust Apprentice of the Year Award (Non Clinical).  We are extremely proud of their achievements. 

Katie, 20, from Consett, made an extraordinary contribution to the North East Leadership Academy Team.  Her emotional intelligence and resilience has been outstanding.  At the end of her apprenticeship, the team were deployed into the ‘Bringing Back Staff Campaign’ to support the NHS during the pandemic.  This sudden change did not deter Katie from giving her all within her role and supporting the whole team as much as she could during these unprecedented times. 

Natalie, 26, was appointed as the Safeguarding Adults Support Officer following the completion of her Apprenticeship with Derwentside College.  Natalie demonstrates a competent and professional manner when dealing with both ward staff and outside organisations.  In addition, Natalie has shown a real strength working in a challenging environment within a team that deals with very difficult situations.  Natalie truly has made a huge difference in supporting her team.
