An Advanced Learner Loan covers the cost of your

course fees and is easy to apply for. It doesn’t take

your household income into account and doesn’t

involve a credit check. Repayments are linked to

what you earn and not how much you borrowed.

You only have to start making repayments when

you’ve finished your course and you’re earning

over

£21,000 a year. Until then you don’t need to

payback anything

.

If you receive a loan to study for an Access to HE

course, and then move on to do a HE course, your

loan for your Access course will be written off once

you complete your HE qualification.

Do I qualify for a loan?

To qualify for a loan you must:

Be aged 19 or over at the start of your course

Be resident in the UK for 3 years prior to the start

of your course
