To celebrate National Apprenticeship week, Derwentside College chose the theme of engineering
and held a ‘Greater Together’ breakfast event to say a big thank you to the companies who are
employing college students as apprentices. With over 40 engineering companies attending, the
College was delighted to welcome Mike Matthews MBE, Managing Director of Nifco UK as its Guest
of Honour. The companies were presented with a commemorative photograph in tribute to their
commitment to Apprenticeships before having the opportunity to tour the College.
