Top of the League

Latest Government statistics show that Derwentside College in Consett, County Durham is in the top 10% of colleges nationally, and has achieved the highest overall college success rate of all Colleges in the North East region. This excellent achievement of 85% not only places the College well above national average statistics of 73%, but also builds upon another year of exciting developments. This includes the College's continuing expansion at its Sixth Form Centre in Lanchester and the recent appointment of its new Acting Principal and Chief Executive, Albert Croney.

Understandably, staff and governors are delighted with this achievement. Mr Croney praised the hard work of both the staff and the students for their success. He said, "This achievement places us at the forefront of outstanding Further Education establishments. I am extremely proud of those who have worked so hard and I sincerely hope that all of our students have enjoyed their learning experience at Derwentside College. I would like to wish those that are leaving us for pastures new, continued success with their future endeavours".
