Welcome to the Lanchester Sixth Form Centre
At Lanchester, our Sixth Form Centre specialises in the teaching of a wide range of A Level subjects, in a mature learning environment. The centre has developed a growing reputation in recent years, which has led to major investment and expansion of the facilities and resources at the centre.
The Sixth Form Centre now boasts additional classrooms with state-of-the-art presentation facilities, an enhanced recreational sports area and an enlarged purpose-built Learning Resource Centre. As well as a traditional library service, the new Resource Centre also includes a relax area and quiet study area, with a variety of IT resources.

The Place to Study
Our Learning Resource Centre, at Lanchester, offers a wide range of
resources to assist you with your studies. Here, you'll have access to
traditional book-based services, newspapers, periodicals, a digital
camera and a scanner. You'll also have free access to the
Internet, e-mail and a full suite of Microsoft software.
The Place to Eat
In the Lanchester Bistro, you can enjoy a hot meal or alternatively, there
is a delicious range of sandwiches, cakes and snacks. This is definitely
the place to meet up with your friends for a chat over a cappuccino.
Relax and Socialise
When you're not in lectures, studying or researching, you can relax in
the student social area or listen to music in the conservatory. There's
also a recreational sports area, which has recently been enhanced, if
you are interested in playing football, basketball, netball or tennis.
You may also want to use the facilities in our leisure complex at the Consett Campus, which includes an excellent sports hall, fitness suite and health spa.
Travelling to Lanchester
Our own free bus service operates between
the Consett Campus and the Lanchester Sixth Form Centre throughout the
day.
The Prom
Students from Lanchester Sixth Form Centre enjoy a stylish end of
year prom, which has become the most popular highlight of the
academic year. Organised by students for students, this is the night
where everyone looks their best.
