How will this course benefit my organisation?
This programme is designed for anyone with a responsibility to conduct Risk Assessments. It is particularly useful for managers and supervisors but it will be equally beneficial to individual workers, team leaders, technicians, engineers or any other personnel contributing to the risk assessment process.
What will be studied?
By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- State the basic principles of Risk Assessment and stages involved in carrying out Risk Assessments in practice
- State the key legislative requirements of Risk Assessment
- Carry out, record, monitor and review Risk Assessments within their own working environment
- Realise the limitations of their knowledge and be aware of where to seek further information and assistance
Course Contents
- Health and Safety law pertaining to Risk Assessment
- Benefits and consequences of risk assessment
- Identifying hazards and quantifying risk
- Measures to eliminate / control risk (using the hierarchy of controls)
- Identify training needs associated with the risks being assessed
On completion of the course, delegates will carry out a work based assignment / Risk Assessment in their workplace.
This course is accredited by The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health.
