Job Description:

A fantastic opportunity has become available for a motivated person to join the team at the Bowes Incline Hotel. You will be trained inside an experienced kitchen preparing dishes from their extensive menu using locally sourced fresh ingredients .


Your duties and responsibilities would include the following:

  • Assisting the Head Chef in the preparation and cooking of meals in line with menu specifications
  • Ensuring all foods are stored correctly and temperature and delivery checks are carried out to a required standard
  • Adhering to all company procedures regarding Health and Safety and Hygiene, including cleanliness of work areas at all times
  • Adhering to knife drill and equipment procedures at all times
  • Maintaining the personal equipment you use to fulfil your job i.e. knives and shoes, to the required standard
  • Attending daily briefings and ensuring an awareness of the menu requirements at all times
  • Assisting in the smooth running of the kitchen
  • Supporting colleagues and ensuring teamwork is maintained within the kitchen environment and front of house transition of prepared food



  • 4 GCSE’s Grade D and above (to include English and Maths)
  • Excellent verbal and listening communication skills
  • Passion for food and catering
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, be enthusiastic and hardworking
  • Methodical, organised and disciplined in the way you look at and carry out work tasks
  • Stay calm under pressure and have a professional approach to the role
  • Good timekeeping and presentation skills


Working Week: 37 hours per week

Commencing Salary: £131.25 per week, £6825.00 per annum.  (Employer would look to increase based on performance)
